About

This blog is a place where I can share some recipes, talk about food and cooking, and tell some stories. It all relates.

I’ve been interested in food and cooking since I was old enough to stand at the stove and heat a can of ravioli. The first thing I can remember really wanting for Christmas was an E Z Bake Oven, and since I have a sister who is only 15 months younger than I am, guess what we both got that year? (One was Avocado Green and one was Harvest Gold.)

I tend to obsess about things from time to time (Orange juice cookies is one of them), and that coupled with my amazing Google-Fu means that if I want to find it, I will find it – or it just doesn’t exist.

I also hope to address food insecurity from time to time. I grew up poor and we had times when we ate a lot of spaghetti sandwiches or pancakes. I used to think this meant we were really poor – until I learned about kids who went without food if the school was out on vacation or the summer. I was a poor college student, but I can’t recall missing any meals.

So please, pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee, and settle in.
